Essex Bay Flower Farm
Home to a small family-run flower farm, this 7-acre property boasts some of the prettiest gardens in the area. From peonies to dahlias, seasonal flowers surround a large, open field. Behind the field is an antique yellow barn adorned with a peace sign, an homage to the owner’s California roots and spirit. The fields of flowers and the historic barn — one of the oldest in the country — combine to make a truly unique setting for an outdoor wedding. In the height of growing season, the fields of flowers are a beautiful backdrop for photos.
This working farm provides fresh cut flowers and bouquets to flower-lovers all over Cape Ann. Couples are welcome to use the barn’s rustic entry (only) for photos, a sitting or staging area, or however they see fit. There is also a small studio with powder room that may be used as a changing room. Couples have the option of using flowers grown right on the farm as part of the decor for the their celebration.
Located in the charming Cape Ann town of Essex, this farm sits on a quiet, tree-lined road just 4 miles from Crane Beach, one of the most scenic beaches in New England. This property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the George Giddings House and Barn, and, according to local legend, George Washington and his troops camped here during the Revolutionary War.

The venue is limited to the outdoor space and a small studio with powder room that may be used as a changing room. The inside of the barn and family home on the property are off-limits to wedding guests.
General Rental Policies?
Insurance: Renters must secure a minimum $1M Special Event Liability Insurance liability policy from an approved vendor, or obtained through Mayflower Venues directly within 30 days of their event.
Security Deposit: In case of damages, Mayflower requires a $1,000 security deposit before any event.
Alcohol: Compliance with all local laws regarding alcohol service is required. At a minimum, bartenders must be certified and insured. Licensing must be in accordance with state laws.
Caterers: Outside caterers permitted. Renters must hire a licensed and insured caterer for their event.
Vendors: All selected vendors must be certified, licensed and insured, and provide supporting documentation.
Trash and Recycling: Renters are responsible for cleaning and returning the venue to its original condition. This includes consolidation and disposal of all waste and recycling in accordance with venue rules, including food and alcohol waste, floral, decor, and signage. Renters must also remove any large temporary structures brought onto the property for their event. Failure to do so, may result in a security deposit deduction.
Restrooms: Couples must rent a minimum of 1 restroom per 100 guests.
Tents: Outdoor venues require tent reservations to ensure adequate rain plan.
